Perfumes You Can Wear All Summer Long
18 May. 2019 / Beauty
Bid the warm, woody, musky fragrances adieu. Winters are done and dusted! Summers have arrived and let’s shimmy into our flowy sundresses. Sunny escapades call for fruity, sweet and citrusy notes.
Spritz on fragrances that will leave you with a fresh and zesty feel, as you waltz the summer leaving a fragrant trail. Choose your own signature scent with notes that merge with your self and personality.
Identify the fragrances you associate with and check perfume labels to see if they feature in the notes. Every perfume potion has 3 notes. The top notes are the lightest of all, dissipating the fastest but giving the first impression of your perfume. Common fragrance top notes are citrus (lemon, orange, bergamot), light fruits (grapefruit, berries) and herbs (sage, lavender).
The middle notes are the heart notes, they emerge once the top notes have evaporated. They last longer and have a lasting influence on the base notes. Common fragrance middle notes are geranium, rose, lemongrass, ylang ylang, lavender, neroli and jasmine.
The base notes are the final fragrance notes that begin to appear once the aforementioned notes fade away. They merge with the heart notes creating the full bodied fragrance. The base notes provide the lasting impression as they linger on the skin for hours.
Five to six sprays of your signature scent over pulse points should last you through the day. Remember to spray on the skin and not on fabric. The oils in the perfume will mix with your body oils emitting a warm and fragrant version of you. Spray behind the ears, inside the elbows, behind your knees, around the neck, in your belly button and in your hair, if you wish.
Spritz on easy breezy fragrances to kick off the summer. Be your best-smelling self all summer long.
